Bizzy App involves young people to stay interested and propose their events to enrich the cultural life of Viken County. The Shortcut team developed the app from scratch, built an interactive map function, worked hard on filtering functions, and did a big cleaning job on both the front and backend.
Bizzy App is a result of close collaboration between Shortcut, Viken county, and the Bizzy crew, a creative group of young people.
Earlier, Buskerud had run an event app based on the cultural life in the county. In 2020 Buskerud became Viken, and the number of potential users went from 30,000 to 130,000 overnight. The Viken County needed to update and redesign the current culture app for youngsters in all 51 municipalities.
When cultural organizations closed down due to Covid-19 and most cultural events were canceled or turned into digital, Viken County used the downtime to create a completely new version for the culture app so that it covers the entire new bigger county.
The app's goal was to get more youngsters involved and propose their events to enrich Viken's cultural life.
The Shortcut team developed the app from scratch, changed the color profile, built an interactive map function, worked hard on filtering functions, and did a big cleaning job on both the front and backend.
The biggest challenge was to achieve a simple design with advanced functionality. The UI/UX performance became significantly better, and with a new, improved code, both maintenance and new implementations turned into a simple matter. The app gained a much more recognizable appearance and platform-specific functionality, so-called native.
Adriana Sureda, the UI/UX designer at Shortcut, says:
“Our ambition is always to create the best possible app for the customer, and with Bizzy, we deliver a solution, that is cool for young people and fulfills all the goals and expectations”.
