An enhanced listening experience. Developed in close collaboration with RADIOIIII, the app is now the central place to listen to either currently broadcasting radio or browse the many RADIOIIII podcasts available. Through the user-friendly and brand-familiar app design, the journey from discovery to listening is made inspiring and enjoyable.

Inspiration and favourites. Podcast listeners appreciate inspiration and shortcuts to new shows they might like. They also desire easy access to their favourite programmes. Through a custom web-based content management system RADIOIII can curate, adapt, promote and present content to their listeners in ever changing ways. While being inspired to listen to new episodes, the user can effortlessly resume listening to their favourite programmes and easily discover recently published episodes from the shows they follow. A custom-built API for caching content means the listening experience in the apps will be swift and smooth. By saving episodes and following shows the user can control their journey from discovery – to listening – to revisiting relevant content.

Research, design and development. Starting with research, we explored the needs and wishes for the app within the RADIOIIII company and with the future users of the app. Research insights were turned into a consolidated concept and a comprehensive design system, which formed the foundation for the two apps. Two native apps were developed in Swift and Kotlin using SwiftUI and Jetpack Compose. These technologies allowed the team to deliver the app quickly while also ensuring that the codebase can be easily maintained without the need for major refactoring for a long time. All in all the project succeeded in delivering a smooth, consistent and enjoyable app experience.
